The Two Expressions of Darkness Explained in Obsessive Detail
Darkness, Evil, and the Problem With Simplification
All of esoterica can be condensed into the knowledge of light and dark. Darkness is the force of creation as well as destruction. It can either magnetize to you what you would want to create from its vast unlimited depths or from within its evil form, it is the force of annihilation that annihilates existence or being.
I'm going to be explaining exactly what darkness means in all of its many forms.
When we think of darkness, we usually associate it only with meaning evil. And that's true. It's just not all of darkness, especially in the esoteric context of darkness. But it is still valid to call evil darkness, but the mistake is stopping there. Evil does not live exclusively in darkness, nor does darkness exist only to house evil. When we collapse the two into one idea, we lose the ability to actually understand either.
I've done several videos on The False Light. So if we think of what evil is, evil is usually associated with darkness for two reasons. And that's why it's not associated with light. It's because darkness usually encompasses either ignorance or maleficence. And what this means is, is that ignorance is the domain of not knowing, to be “left in the dark.” And this is one form, a more passive form of evil.
When we're thinking of not outright doing harm to others with an evil intent, we're usually thinking of evil being in a more passive way. And many of us know that passivity can absolutely lead to evil. Even by not doing an action, we can still be contributing to the nurturing and the building of evil.
This is in the domain of evil in its passive form called ignorance. And that's simply when we don't know, and we don't try to know, and we don't care to know.
The Two Roots of Evil: Ignorance vs. Maleficence
Ignorance simply a lack of information, as if we’d automatically do better if we just knew more. That version of ignorance is almost innocent. What we’re really talking about here is a refusal to know, a resistance to awareness itself.
If we don't know, it doesn't mean we're this flailing lost cause. It simply means we aren't fully aware of some sort of action we need to be taking or some action we need to stop taking. We can always self-correct. With this knowledge it is clear that ignorance isn't just a state of not knowing.
True ignorance is not just not knowing it’s not wanting to know. It’s the apathy that chooses comfort over awareness, stagnation over self-correction, and the illusion of peace over the responsibility of growth. That’s why ignorance so easily becomes fertile ground for evil. Hence why it's called ignorance is bliss.
Capacity for Evil: Why Not Everyone Is Wired the Same
Positive aligned darkness is the capacity for depth as depth is the best word I can find to describe the level of inclusivity and understanding that comes from this force in existence. And negative darkness is the capacity for evil.
I would define evil in existence as usurpation through annihilation. A person can be influenced by evil, but to different degrees. Not every person has the same capacity for evil. For instance, some people have virtually no capacity for evil. This leads them to always trying their best to become aware and evolve because they can sense how corrupted the world is.
The next category contain people who have the capacity to be influenced by evil, but it would take more work for these people to fully resonate with evil. This means they do not enjoy it, but we'll participate in it anyways, either actively or as a passive bystander, they may fear for their life and participate in evil simply to avoid it turning on them, or they may pressure themselves into resonating with evil so they can silence their own conscience.
Then there are those who have the full capacity and willingness for evil, but they may or may not have opportunities available to them. Not all people have the same capacity for evil, but it does take an extraordinary amount of integrity for a person to not passively go along with evil.
If this world exists for any larger reason, it may be to confront this truth directly. To address that resisting evil, even passively, requires an extraordinary level of integrity. Most people don’t fall into evil because they are malicious, but because they choose comfort over conscience. A very alluring trap.
Ignorance is evil's indirect, more passive form, but when it comes to its active form, this is what we call usually darkness. This is where there is an intent to do harm, an enjoyment to commit force, and to commit torture or trauma onto others. We can make excuses if we want and say, well, the people mean well, they were just traumatized or whatever excuses we can come up with.
Regardless of the story we tell ourselves, deliberately inflicting pain mentally, emotionally, or physically, crosses a line, and beyond a certain threshold, justification collapses, and what remains is simply evil. This is what we typically call darkness. And in this context, that label is earned. Not because it is mysterious or misunderstood, but because it is oriented toward harm.
What Annihilation Actually Means
Darkness is associated in the esoteric sphere with annihilation, whether it's a positive annihilation, meaning that you are merging and having your being annihilated into the luminousness or the darkness of the void. This is the state that poets and mystics talk about. And it's known as a state of annihilation, but from reverence. So it's a mystical form of annihilation that's still linked to darkness. But that's not the evil type of darkness.Darkness becomes evil when annihilation is imposed outward, when one being seeks to erase another rather than dissolve itself. This is the moment where darkness turns predatory. And what this state specifically means, which makes it dark, is the fact that to annihilate something is to utterly devour and consume its essence.
Think of essence in this case as light. And when you're thinking of somebody or a group of people or whatever inflicting trauma and malevolence onto them for the sake of evil, What’s actually happening is an attempt to consume, to drain another being’s essence, vitality, and light. Trauma becomes a mechanism of devouring, a way to siphon life force rather than cultivate it.
That is the form of annihilation that we link to evil, which is why it's called darkness. It's because a person is trying to cast darkness upon you. They are trying to cast annihilation upon you, devouring your life essence. So that's what darkness means when we think of it as evil.I know many people already are like, yeah, evil is equated with darkness stuff, but it's so associated with it.We accept the association so casually that we forget why it exists in the first place.
Dimensional Perspective and Discernment
When you have a whole pathway that is service to self, as many people know, or the negative pathway within creation, what you have is the enjoyment of inflicting pain or trauma upon others for this very reason, for the sake of annihilating, like trying to cease somebody's divine spark or trying to cease somebody's own life force and their own essence for their devouring this, they want to siphon it. The service-to-self pathway is defined by this exact mechanism, the pleasure or fixation on draining others. It is an orientation toward siphoning rather than creating, consuming rather than coexisting. And that whole form is the negative side of annihilation, which is what we call evil.
Some teachings inside the spiritual field teach that there is no such thing as evil, that evil is an illusion. That is true, at a certain level of reality, those teachings are from at least the 11th dimension. If you were to look at all of the ways and pathways that a person can learn and discover and experience and evolve or devolve, that has a different vantage point. It's almost as if they can't really see evil because they're coming from such a large viewpoint, one where evil always gets reconciled or used as a fertilizer for some form of evolution or consciousness or even love. So because of that, it sees evil in and of itself as a sheer illusion.
But think about this, if you were connected back with your eternal self, your God self, of course, all of the different things that we call illusion would still be real when every layer of reality would be an illusion. It's not just evil that would be an illusion. The illusion of being a physical one person identity, an ego would also be an illusion.
This whole third dimensional reality would also be an illusion.
So you see, illusion is used here in a very confusing way because sure, evil could be an illusion, but everything else could also be called an illusion as well. And so because of that, we can't disrespect or negate the fact that evil is real.
It's just real at a lower level of reality, the one that's not at the 11th dimension.
When we go down in dimensions until we end up here, now we have a completely different perspective, a completely different reference point. What was abstract at higher levels becomes immediate, tangible, and unavoidable here. That higher teaching about how evil is an illusion is true. It's just not going to be the most helpful truth here. it is not operational here. I mean, it could still help people don't get me wrong, because it helps us grow and expand. A truth can be valid and still be profoundly unhelpful when applied at the wrong level of reality.
Do you see how our job here and the third density third dimension is to not just understand those higher truths, but to embody them in a way where they don't negate the reality of this experience, which definitely is based off of very different things than the higher dimensions and the higher densities.
Here, discernment is part of the curriculum. We are meant to recognize evil. We are not meant to obsess over it, but to navigate reality without surrendering our agency or integrity. That way, we're able to take better actions for our own evolution and towards unity consciousness.
Is Evil Necessary?
Many people make the mistake of thinking that evil is not only necessary, it's how we evolve through the dark and light. The idea that evil is required to balance love is one of the most persistent misunderstandings in spiritual thought.
Evil is not a requirement for growth, it's a consequence of unresolved imbalance. Growth can occur without harm; evolution does not demand destruction. We don't need evil, not unless a person's own intention is to incarnate into an experience where they get to live out what evil is. So if that's a part of your own belief system that yeah, we incarnate into all these different experiences for lessons that’s fine. But from my own gnosis, I perceive that evil is necessary, and you need it, and it's the dark that balances the light. There's a darkness that balances the light that I'll get to in a moment. But it's not evil that balances that light.
Evil as Influence
Evil as I perceive it, is actually when we don't learn the lessons. Evil is almost like when you've invited a lot of parasites into your own garden. It's a sign that the garden wasn't tended to. So instead of it being necessary, we just have to live and accept evil and work through evil, and all of these different things have to be accommodated for evil, and then we place it in equilibrium with light.
That's all kind of like an addict making up excuses to continue being an addict, as far as I see. Evil shows up as an extreme imbalance. So it's almost like a state of disease. It's this thing that we justify when we're in spiritual amnesia, or when we're addicts, but that actually, if we were to wake up out of spiritual amnesia, or if we were to heal our addiction, we could clearly see that we were justifying something that was pathological and never really needed to exist.
That's how I see evil, because when it is such an extreme imbalance, it simply means that the lesson wasn't learned. On a larger scale, I see evil less as a necessity and more as a cosmic stress test, an impulse that pressures beings to choose awareness, alignment, or collapse.
In a larger sense, how I view evil, this need to annihilate, to devour essence, and to harm and force outside of itself, I view it almost as though it is an impulse inside all of the cosmos, but that this impulse serves a purpose, if we see it this way. It serves the purpose almost as a test. More as a cosmic stress test. So I don't view it as necessary.
I view it as a test in order to cultivate, in order to try and influence humans or any beings into its side, into its impulse. It is an influence, not a mandate. A force that attempts to recruit through distortion rather than creation and one we are never obligated to answer. Beyond that, just like any other thing that we are being influenced by, we can choose. We have the free will to go, hmm, do I really resonate with this?
If a being is always influenced and continuously acting from that impulse of forcing, that impulse of consuming, annihilating, controlling, if a person's constantly coming from that impulse, that simply means that they're in an extreme, a very extreme degree of imbalance and dis-ease.
So is it necessary to have evil?
No.
Is it a force within existence to influence us? Yes.
You see the difference?
Is it necessary? No.
We can learn our lesson from evil and then we wouldn't be an evil anymore. So you see, we don't need it always and always and always. In fact, it's a sign that we're not learning, that we're not growing to our fullest potential, that we're not aligning if we're always having evil show up in a specific reality or whatever.
Aligned Darkness: The Unmanifested
Aligned darkness is not malevolent, it is unmanifest potential. It is the field of possibility that exists before form, before identity, before definition. More than that, darkness is equated with femininity or the feminine because darkness is creativity. But we think of creativity in a specific way. We go, oh yeah, things are creative. That's not just what I'm talking about when I'm saying creativity.Creativity is depth. So you have darkness being known as the feminine consciousness that represents creativity and depth.Depth and creativity are also considered the womb.
When we're thinking of these larger esoteric concepts of what darkness is, it's hard to almost grasp with silly words exactly what darkness means and what creativity means and depth. If we understand darkness as everything that exists beyond perception, we begin to grasp its creative magnitude. Reality is only the surface layer what we see illuminated while most of existence remains unseen, yet fully present.
There's a lot of creativity and an endless depth into what's taking place. And we can only see what, whatever is projected into the physical form, whatever's projected into this reality as light. And that all the things that go into creating this experience and the other ones that are side by side in our reality, but that we're just tuned out of so that we're locked into this dimension, but they're taking place right here in this same energy field.
They're all sharing the same space. They're on just different radio station channels.
So it's like, what's, what's all of that doing? It's the depth of creative darkness that all of this is taking place on. And so we're all going to be in a womb if we're existing in any form, because a womb in this case is a matrix. And the feminine's ability of the darkness is ability to hold us just like how a baby is held inside a womb for us to grow in.
If you'd like to know more specifically what I mean about a matrix being a womb, watch my video, The Matrix Explained.
Darkness as Magnetism and Self-Revelation
When I'm talking about creativity and depth being darkness, I'm talking about everything that is so unmanifested that we barely even know that we don't know. And because of that, we can see how you still need light and darkness together, just not necessarily evil. Maybe if you need to learn the lessons from evil, sure, but beyond that, there's still going to be darkness and light. But in this case, it's going to be what you don't know and you're learning.
Have you ever noticed that creative or artistic people happen to have a lot of depth to them?
That's not an accident. That's a form of the aligned darkness.
It's this capacity for almost an endless amount of creativity that's being pulled literally out of the unmanifested. And that's all taking place inside this void known as the aligned darkness.
So when we think of depths, depths would even be a silly word to use because it's more like a flowing vastness that is sheerly whatever that can be, that could be. It is a potential that sometimes we would even lose contact with because we're so conditioned into certain belief systems. We couldn't fathom just how vast and bottomless and in depth this level of potential is.
We can actually use this to manifest. And that's why the feminine energy has been known throughout all of history as something to be feared. It's specifically because the void or this darkness can manifest. And so it looks like magic, or it looks like something that can't be controlled.
When we know how to use it, specifically how to channel this level of potential into the physical world, that becomes scary to those who don't understand things of this high level nature. And so the feminine energy known for this depth, this unmanifested and this creativity has been seen always as something bewildering, something that cannot be controlled, something that needs to be feared, or it needs to be annihilated, ironically enough.
This level of darkness is actually also how we can evolve, but it won't be just by what I just said. How we can use it to evolve is because we ourselves will always be learning more about what we are. And so you see, if darkness is everything, then we'll just keep attracting through that darkness, more and more things to learn, to experience, to be aware of. This form of darkness is how evolution actually occurs. As we encounter what we don’t yet know about ourselves, the self we thought we were dissolves and something larger takes its place.
It's almost like this womb that we continuously rebirth ourselves through.
So that's the aligned level of darkness, and it will always reveal more to us, it will always magnetize more to us, because darkness is also known as the magnetic force, which is known as attraction, magnets attract. And so if this darkness is how we attract, because of its magnetism, what are we attracting?
We're attracting whatever we don't know about ourselves. So that doesn't always need to be bad. We're just learning more. Well guess what that's also called?
Annihilation.
The reason it's called annihilation is because if we think of ourselves as one way, but then we have more of reality magnetized to us, we learn more about ourselves. So we're always growing. So this is a form that mystics call annihilation, self-annihilation. But it's the form where our ego is the thing being annihilated, because we're learning just how large existence is in ourselves and how we are one.And the one is experiencing itself as the many.
It's, as you can tell, a far different flavor of annihilation, when you are merging with the all, then evils form of annihilation. So there's even two annihilations. This is all very important to know because the feminine energy is always going to be a part of the equation.
Light, Darkness, and Reality
So when we say we need lights and dark, and that you can't have light without dark, that doesn't mean evil. It simply means that you can't have light, which is the manifested form, which is the experience of us having the phenomenon of light to be in an illusion. So light is the phenomenon of reality. Light is what we can see. So lights means that we have physicality. It means that we have form. Light is the illusion. And the darkness is all of the womb or the whole stage that we're on.
Light and darkness will always coexist but the question is which expression of them we’re engaging with. One creates, the other consumes. It can either magnetize to you, what you would want to create from its vast unlimited depths or in its evil form, its lower form. It is the force of annihilation that annihilates existence or being by consuming and siphoning something's life force.
So it's trying to harm or it's trying to force, it's trying to do something to inflict torture trauma on a being in order to consume its life force. And so that form of annihilation, the negative form of annihilation is what we call evil and its higher form is what we call creation. It is the creative force that allows all of existence to manifest through its womb. One gives birth to reality; the other attempts to erase it.
I hope this has revealed your own depths.
